Volunteer Opportunities

The outpouring of love and support from the community is underscored by BirchBark's extraordinary volunteers who make a huge difference by volunteering to help us in multiple ways. Our volunteers are truly part of our family.

We are always looking for like-minded animal ambassadors to help in various areas. Read about out our volunteer teams and consider how you would like to help.

The volunteer opportunities described below represent just a fraction of what volunteers can do and how they make a difference. Commit your voice to the mission today!

  • Spread the word in your community that BirchBark provides lifesaving financial assistance for families with financial limitations. Do community outreach activities such as distributing brochures, flyers, and donation boxes, tabling at local events such as festivals and farmers markets. Answering questions and telling people about BirchBark's work. Talk to your veterinarian and getting him or her signed up as a Community Vet Partner.

  • Help us raise funds to grow our work. Assist with fundraising activities. Agree to host a house party and invite your friends to come and learn about BirchBark and contribute to our cause! Duties may include finding venues or reaching out to sponsors. Assist in planning non-fundraising events such as our Volunteer Appreciation events or Holiday Parties, etc. The more we raise, the more pets we can help!

  • Pictures and video tell a story, broaden BirchBark's reach, and encourage engagement with our mission. An important part of BirchBark’s work is sharing Success Stories and recognizing our partners and supporters in the community. We are always looking for talented and budding photographers and videographers to help tell our stories!

    We also would love to partner with graphic designers looking to expand their portfolio, college interns pursuing marketing or web design careers, & social media copywriters and content writers interested in sharing their talent. Write content for our Success Stories, newsletters, blogs, advertising, marketing, and website.

  • Conduct research, data entry, “Help Line”, answer phones, make calls, send emails, prepare mailers, and other administrative tasks.

Let us know your talents or experience, and we will be happy to find you something to help us! Your assistance can be as simple as a little of your personal time or a financial donation.

Important Note: As we are not a shelter nor do we operate a rescue, we do not have kennel or dog-walking opportunities.
